Our Setup
Our Aviary is a colour bond construction which is 6 meters long by 4 meters wide and 2.4 meters high.
It was custom made by a local shed guy and has a L shaped corridor to fit over 30 breeding cages.
This is the fifth or sixth Aviary in the 30 or so years I have been breeding budgerigars. I believe after having aviaries from the past made from different materials that you can't go past colour bond for a number of reasons.
1) It is durable and long lasting.
2) If done correctly is vermin proof and resistant to different infestations that you get from wood construction.
3) It can be washed down and disinfected this greatly reduces the risk of any disease taking hold and spreading through contact with infected surfaces.
4)Also if done correctly it's weather and water proof.
The flight section in the front is powder coated 8mm square bhp mesh. With a slide entry door at the side and a entry door into the flight from inside the corridor
